Mekomit محلية מקומית X ArtGirlRising is a collaboration project aiming to raise awareness for the work of local female artists and art pioneers. The art world is steered by gender-based discrimination and the absence of women in museums, galleries and art history books is an ongoing concern. The idea that female creators "lack" the adequacy or general interest to be mentioned and involved in the art discourse and to be excluded from Art *his*tory is a reality but something we demand to change. 

Mekomit محلية מקומית and ArtGirlRising work together to highlight the underrepresentation of the local female creators, for their voice will be heard. We believe that it is only through equality and inclusion that the art world could reach its full potential.

 

*For each tote bag we donate a percentage to the Association for Women's Art and Gender Research in Israel.
