THIS IS US is a feminist initiative that aims to raise awareness and consciousness in the context of domestic violence and sexual abuse. Founded in late 2018 as a backlash to the increased rate of gender-based violence and femicide in Israel (In 2018 alone, 25 Israeli women were murdered by their partners or relatives), by Gal Houbara Bergman and Yasmin Ben-Shahar, two young Tel Avivian women who could not bear this gruesome reality, and decided to take action.
